About The Position
Job Title : Surgical Technologist Job Specialty : Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) - Operating Room (OR) Job Duration : 13 Weeks Shift : 8-Hour Rotating Shifts (Day / Evening) Guaranteed Hours : 32 Hours per Week Experience : Minimum of 3 Years License : License to Submit Required Certifications : Basic Life Support (BLS), Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) or National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT), Nursing Assistant (UAP) Must-Have : - Proficiency in either Ortho / Neuro or General / Robotics surgery- Experience with open bellies, gynecology, and Da Vinci Xi for general surgeries- Experience with total joints (knees, hips, shoulders, ankles), sports medicine, arthroscopies, neuro-spinal fusions, cervical and lumbar fusions, microdiscectomies, craniotomies Job Description : Work in a department with 12 operating rooms, plus 1 endoscopy suite and 1 cystoscopy suite.
- Handle cases ranging from pediatrics to geriatrics, including cystoscopy, Da Vinci XI for General / GYN / Urology, and ION robotic cases.
- Gain endoscopic and gastrointestinal experience, with the opportunity for refresher training on ION Robot, Da Vinci XI, and Stryker towers.
- Charge Nurse available for all shifts, with the manager present until 4 p.m. Monday through Friday.- Rotating 8-hour shifts with the schedule managed by the clinical supervisor.
- Weeknight call required 1-2 times per week; weekend call every 3-4 weekends and holiday call rotation with permanent staff.
- Must accommodate a 15-minute call response time with access to a sleep room and nearby housing for call duties.- Participate in 4-5 days of unit-specific orientation and 2 buddy call shifts.
- Willingness to float to cross-train in orthopedic cases and to the floor as a 1 : 1 sitter if needed.- Scrub attire provided;
the department promotes a family-like atmosphere.- Familiarity with EPIC charting system required.- Work settings include Trauma Level 2 Acute Care.
Must be willing to cover weekend shifts approximately every 4th / 5th weekend and handle call duties.
