We are seeking a highly skilled Field Service Engineer to provide expert technical support for advanced automotive vehicles. In this role, you will serve as the primary point of contact for CELESTIQ vehicle service at dealerships, delivering both remote and on-site diagnostic and repair guidance. You will collaborate closely with local and regional teams to resolve complex technical cases, support executive escalations, and provide actionable insights through field product reports. The ideal candidate combines deep automotive knowledge, hands-on diagnostic experience, and excellent communication skills to ensure high customer satisfaction and vehicle performance. This position offers the opportunity to impact dealer operations, enhance product quality, and work in a dynamic, highly technical environment.
Accountabilities
- Provide remote support via phone, Teams, or HoloLens to diagnose and resolve CELESTIQ vehicle issues.
- Coordinate on-site technical assistance for complex repairs or escalated cases.
- Generate Field Product Reports to identify root causes of quality concerns and recommend improvements.
- Deliver third-level, on-site support for technical and Techline issues escalated through established channels.
- Review Preliminary Information (PI) and Technical Service Bulletins (TSB) to advise dealer service personnel.
- Take ownership of dealer concerns, resolving issues efficiently and ensuring customer satisfaction.
- Support wholesale operations by building relationships with regional and national management, engineering teams, and service operations.
- Provide warranty waste reduction suggestions and technical feedback to leadership and engineering teams.
Requirements
Extensive hands-on experience in automotive dealership service or equivalent vehicle diagnostics and repair.Knowledge and experience with essential service tools and advanced automotive diagnostic systems.State Automotive Technician Certifications as required by law; ability to certify in new states within one month if relocated.Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.Proficiency in MS Office applications (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook).Ability to manage, resolve, document, and close service dispatch cases on time.Strong customer relationship management skills with dealer service teams.Ability to work independently, self-train, and maintain skills.Excellent communication, time management, and problem-solving abilities.Willingness and ability to travel up to 75% of the time.Preferred Qualifications :
10+ years of hands-on dealership service experience.Technical, vocational, associate, or bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.Proficiency with diagnostic tools such as TIS / GDS, NeoVi, V-Spy Intrepid, Buffalo Tool, INCA, and Pico Scope.ASE certifications including A1-A9, T1-T8, L1-L4, and Master Technician credentials.Knowledge of GM Global Connect Service Applications, vehicle control systems, LAN / WAN IT infrastructure, and GM service training programs.Benefits
