About Engineering, NA

The Engineering team’s primary mission is to provide thought leadership and Subject Matter Expertise (SME) for the design and construction of leading data center facilities.

We are engineers and architects who empower site specific design teams for success, integrate contractual obligations into projects, ensure optimal fulfillment of VDC core requirements and business needs, and proactively drive solutions in response to North American development challenges and opportunities!

Position Description

This role provides in-house organization and process development / improvement for a team of engineers, architects, and Design Managers (DMs) who support the fast-paced design, construction, and operations of hyperscale data centers!

This position will lead and participate in initiatives centered on internal process development and improvement. Functional aspects of these initiatives include automated toolset development / procurement, management of business process standards, communication across the organization, and reporting template development and ongoing tracking.

As an effective Program Manager / Project Manager, this position requires the ability to listen and communicate effectively with others, the willingness to engage deeply into the understanding of business strategy and execution, the organization and focus to stay on-task and maintain deadlines, and the desire to communicate and connect positively with multiple internal business process owners.

The Program Manager will work to distill team wants and needs into standardized tangible business processes, and then drive the engagement vital to develop or improve those processes.

Confident problem solving and collaboration is a requirement for this role. This role will present its own work and the work of our team at key meetings with internal partners as well as to senior leadership.

To be successful in this role, one must thrive in a fast-paced environment, be capable of remaining positive in the face of multiple priorities and excel working in ambiguity to deliver strategic programs with tangible, measurable results.

Responsibilities :

  • Develop and manage end-to-end initiatives; develop roadmaps, timelines, solutions, and set shared expectations, then ensure successful delivery of same, on time.
  • Provide hands-on program management during the analysis, design, development, testing, implementation, and post-implementation phases of assigned initiatives.
  • Perform risk management and enhancement oversight to support initiatives and construction projects.
  • Provide day-to-day coordination and quality assurance for assigned initiatives and tasks.
  • Drive internal and external process improvements across multiple teams and functions.
  • Collaborate with interdepartmental teams to define project initiatives and scope.
  • Drive prioritization of initiatives to align with company and team goals.
  • Define requirements of new software, tools, and / or dashboards in support of business processes; drive procurement / development of same.
  • Work closely with Engineering team to define team needs, metrics, and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs); drive development of measurable KPIs and track and report on them.
  • Complete Root Cause Analysis (RCS) of different workflows to quantify problems, goals, and identify areas for improvement.
  • Create and document overall business processes while balancing sometimes multiple important team functions and goals.
  • Develop and maintain automated toolsets, reporting templates, and manage business process standards.
  • Positively collaborate with cross-functional teams and process owners.
  • Engage deeply in understanding business strategy and executing.
  • Inspire a strong team cohort by fostering an environment of learning, development, and innovation.

Minimum Qualifications :

  • Bachelor's degree, equivalent military experience / training, or equivalent work experience in the fields of : Construction Management, Engineering / Architecture, Business / Finance, Project Management, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Applied Sciences, Mathematics, Physics, or a related field.
  • Minimum 3-7 years work experience in business process development / Project Management, with a focus on business intelligence or design & construction preferred.
  • Experience in providing successful project management support for multi-discipline teams.
  • Successful experience in managing limited resources to provide the greatest impact / need.
  • Consistent record in improving overall productivity and efficiency through optimization of processes.
  • Experience collaborating with engineering and business owners for project requirements and scope.
  • Outstanding communication skills, with the ability to build, cultivate, and leverage personal and professional networks and relationships, develop and deliver successful presentations, and collaborate and negotiate effectively.
  • Working style that is open and authentic and that demonstrates innovation and creativity.
  • Able to collaborate across teams to support colleagues and resolve issues.
  • Enjoy working in a fluid, dynamic organization with minimal amount of direction.
  • Travel required is expected to be 5 to 10%.

Preferred Qualifications :

  • PMP certification, or equivalent.
  • Experience in the design, construction, and delivery of data centers or mission-critical projects is highly desirable.
  • Experience in optimizing products, processes, and systems for efficiency and return on investment.
  • Proficiency with entire MS Suite of applications, including development and integration of SharePoint and PowerBI tools and trackers.
  • Experience with tooling development, or outsourcing of tooling development, to support : automation of repeatable processes;

logging, tracking, and reporting on in-flight projects; cross-functional and asynchronous collaboration.

  • Cross-functional leadership experience; managing customer / partner relationships; building teams.
  • Experience managing priorities and balancing limited resources between competing efforts.
  • Consistent record of improving overall team productivity and efficiency; measuring and reporting on same.
  • Experience working for owner in the development / construction industry.
  • Hands-on program management experience in the development / construction industry.
  • Proven track record in strategic planning and roadmap development in the scale of years.

Additional Details

  • Salary Range : $130,000 - $150,000 Base + Bonus (this range is based on Colorado market data and may vary in other locations).
  • This position is eligible for company benefits including but not limited to medical, dental, and vision coverage, life and AD&D, short and long-term disability coverage, paid time off, employee assistance, participation in a 401k program that includes company match, and many other additional voluntary benefits.
  • Compensation for the role will depend on a number of factors, including your qualifications, skills, competencies, and experience and may fall outside of the range shown.
