SNIP Collier is a 501c3 organization located in Naples, Florida. Our mission is to end the suffering and neglect of dogs and cats in our community, due to the pet overpopulation crisis, through affordable spay and neuter, vaccines, and preventative care;
and through public awareness, education, and outreach.
We opened our Clinic in 2021 and perform low cost HQHVSN and Preventative Basic Veterinary Care Clinic. We are in the architectural planning stage of constructing a $2 million dollar, 4,000 square foot medical center on a 3 acre campus in rural Collier County.
Additionally, we have a full-service mobile clinic that we run in the rural areas of Collier County.
The ideal candidate must be trained in HQHVSN, they should be able to perform 25 - 40 SN / day. The veterinarian will be asked to stay at minimum 1 hour after last patient is extubated to ensure all animals have recovered safely.
We also ask the veterinarian to check all incisions prior to leaving. They should also be experienced in general small animal practice or shelter medicine.
Our veterinarians are also asked to do wellness visits offering Basic Veterinary Care.
A full-time candidate is strongly preferred, however, we also have part-time and relief positions available.
- ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS*
- Performs pre-surgery physical examinations on all surgical candidates.
- Performs 25 - 40 high quality, high volume spay / neuter surgical procedures on scheduled surgery days.
- Diagnoses and treats post-surgical medical complications.
- Provides Basic Veterinary Care on wellness days.
- Practices Gentle Animal Handling to minimize fear, anxiety and stress for patients in care.
- Triages and refers cases that SNIP Collier cannot treat.
- Performs Humane Euthanasia when medically needed.
- Communicates with clients in a respectful, nonjudgmental way; discusses physical examination and test results to allow pet owners to make informed decisions about their pet’s care.
- Oversees the dispensing of medication.
- Documents all exam findings, test results and treatment recommendations.
- Is a leader among staff, displaying a positive attitude and acting as a motivating force for all staff members.
- Works with Practice Manager to ensure all clinic staff members are adhering to proper pre-, peri- and post-operative care of patients.
- Competently performs and teaches CPR and other emergency measures.
- Competently handles surgical complications and rechecks.
- EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES*
1. Education & Communication
- Required : Doctorate degree in Veterinary Medicine
- Required : Licensed DVM in the State of Florida
- Fluency in English. Bilingual in Spanish is a plus.
2. Physical Requirements
- Must be able to work standing or sitting for 10 or more hours.
- Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds repeatedly throughout the day with help.
- Must be able to bend and kneel repeatedly.
- Must be able to see fine detail in a variety of situations.
- WORK ENVIRONMENT*
This position requires the ability to operate professionally and efficiently in a high volume, and at times, high stress environment.
The typical schedule is Monday through Friday, however, the schedule can change and may occasionally require weekend, holiday, or evening hours depending on the needs of the organization.

Pay : $130,000.00 - $150,000.00 per year
