Job Summary
We're hiring a Technical Writer and Editor III to support U.S. government agencies in responding to cybersecurity incidents.
If hired, you will create, review, and maintain technical documents such as cybersecurity plans, operational procedures, and incident reports.
Collaborating with incident management teams and technical analysts, you'll ensure all materials are accurate, clear, and timely.
As Technical Writer / Editor III, you will manage program documents, including standard operating procedures (SOPs) and team communications, statistical diagrams, and engagement reports reflecting cybersecurity activities.
Responsibilities
Develop and review technical communications deliverables, including cybersecurity documentation, operational procedures, plans, action reports, and meeting minutes, coordinating with Incident Management teams to obtain necessary input data.
Prepare, review, edit, and maintain program technical documents, standard operating procedures, work instructions, CONOPS, and internal team messaging.
Maintain statistical diagrams and charts of team engagement reports.
Requirements
U.S. Citizenship
Active TS / SCI clearance
Ability to obtain DHS Suitability
5+ years of technical writing experience, particularly in developing cybersecurity documentation and communications.
Experience creating government records and maintaining cybersecurity-related SOPs
Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Adobe Products, and Google Suite
Strong technical writing and editing skills (AP style or government style guides)
Ability to work closely with technical cyber analysts and translate complex material into concise, engaging content promptly
Must thrive in a fast-paced environment and meet the deadlines of quick turnaround assignments
Preferred Skills
Familiarity with cybersecurity terminology
Experience creating technical briefings for executive leadership
Ability to capture and summarize meeting minutes
Education
Bachelor's degree in English, business, or a related field (5+ years of experience with a high school diploma also considered)
Desired Certifications
Security+ (Sec+)
ITIL v4
