The main goal of this position is the successful coordinated planning, management and execution of multiple related projects that are directed toward the same strategic, business or organizational objectives, portfolio management, program management, and overall business systems delivery.

Program management includes project management methodology and practice standards, it expands to include prioritization and governance of projects as well as realizing and measuring the benefits that projects bring to the entire organization.

Maintain overall responsibility for reviewing, planning, organizing and directing all enterprise resource planning (ERP) program / project initiatives.

This position will drive consistent process and program management practices across the enterprise surrounding business systems alignment and integration, resulting in predictable, measurable services.

Work closely with senior leaders both internal and external to IT to ensure personnel and services are prepared to deliver key programs across the enterprise.

Essential Functions :

  • This position reports to the Vice President, Service Delivery Effectiveness
  • This position will lead the project teams through planning, implementation and execution of the ERP program
  • Ability to travel up to 50% both domestic and international, overnight travel required
  • Ability to manage internal and external development projects from inception to successful implementation
  • Understanding of how to leverage business applications for competitive advantage and solid understanding of relevant technologies
  • Thorough understanding of the ERP implementation process, software development process, including requirement gathering, analysis / design, development tools / technologies, release / version control, contemporary testing methodologies and deployment management
  • Strong analysis, design and implementation experience with expertise in setting and managing customer expectations
  • Skill in conceptualizing creative solutions, as well as documenting them and presenting / selling them to senior management
  • Strong knowledge and understanding of business needs, with the ability to establish and maintain a high level of customer trust and confidence
  • Strong customer focus and ability to manage expectations
  • Ability to communicate needs and schedules to IT and customers of IT services, as well as ensure that plans are in place and standards are adhered to
  • Solid program management skills with ability to multitask and manage multiple small to large projects in a cross-functional environment
  • Ability to blend creative, problem-solving, and technical skills for refining existing theories or developing new system approaches to seize opportunities and sustain business success
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, as well as ability to present and explain technical information in a way that establishes rapport, persuades others and gains understanding
  • Strong teamwork and interpersonal skills at all management levels
  • Allocates appropriate resources to ensure that complex programs are supported and completed within committed time, scope, and budget
  • Support the development of project management standards and procedures
  • Initiates and implements new technologies, methodologies, process and procedures that will support Company Long and short-term goals
  • In addition to project and new functionality deployment, responsibilities include career development, performance management and pay determination and communication
  • Demonstrates the ability to adapt to and lead, change, and coach others in the acceptance and support of change
  • Ability to coach the team to initiate and present the right questions to gain insight into the business issues and needed resolutions

Other Important Details about the Role :

The incumbent is the team leader and liaison responsible for advising leadership and / or business executives at the highest levels about the assigned project portfolio, status and resource planning regarding the delivery for strategic business initiatives.

Required Qualifications of Every Candidate (Education, Experience, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities) :

  • Preferred Bachelor’s with 7+ years relevant experience or Associate’s Degree with 9+ years of relevant experience or 11+ years of relevant experience
  • Seven years of progressively responsible experience in a project / program-based environment
  • Seven years project management experiences through active participation in system-related projects which may include ERP or other business systems
  • Leadership role in business systems implementation or five years’ experience as a subject matter expert in using a business system to support a corporate business environment / function
  • Advanced level analytical and problem-solving skills with a demonstrated ability to identify problems and systematically gather data, identify root causes and solutions
  • Familiar with program management, large (enterprise) lean manufacturing and IT applications
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Must have leadership skills with the ability to influence, build relationships and manage high priority items and adjust to shifting priorities while meeting deadlines
  • Must have the ability to see, account for, and coach others in the big picture as well as the details and to be able to tie initiatives to corporate goals
  • Excellent understanding of computer technology as it applied to business processes
  • High level of initiative and self-motivation
  • Ability to work independently or as part of a team

Highly Qualified Candidates Will Also Possess These Qualifications :

  • Project Management Certification
  • Master’s degree
  • Must be able to work effectively with people at all levels, solve personal conflicts, understand and diagnose the causes of change resistance and initiate corrective action
  • Knowledge of Agile and Water Fall system development methodologies
  • Experience with implementation of ERP systems (SAP 4 / Hana is a plus)
