Job Description\n

American Traveler is seeking an experienced Emergency Department RN with a current or pending NY license, Epic experience, and relevant certifications for a 32-week night shift assignment.

\n \n Responsibilities\n

  • Work in the Emergency Department of a hospital
  • Night shifts are 12 hours each, with the schedule including every other weekend or as adjusted for unit needs
  • Assignment runs for 32 weeks
  • Care for patients requiring emergency care and trauma
  • Staff use Epic EMR and must have recent experience
  • Holiday work is required on 2 out of these 3 holidays : Thanksgiving, Christmas / Christmas Eve, and New Year's Day / Eve
  • No block scheduling is allowed
  • There are no on-call requirements
  • All employment gaps of more than 90 days must be explained for consideration
  • Bi-weekly orientation sessions are held on Mondays
  • Reliable personal or rental vehicle is required, as public transportation is not available in the area
  • Vehicles should have all-season or snow tires November through April
  • Holiday coverage is mandatory for 2 out of these 3 holidays : Thanksgiving, Christmas / Christmas Eve, and New Year's Day / Eve
  • Local candidates are accepted
  • No first-time travelers will be considered

  • Active NY RN license or proof of application and applied date required for consideration
  • Minimum of 1 year recent Emergency Room RN experience is required
  • AHA certifications required : BLS, ACLS, PALS, and TNCC (active or proof of class prior to start)
  • NIHSS certification required prior to start
  • Epic EMR experience within the past 2 years required
  • Prior travel nursing experience preferred
  • Charge nurse experience is preferred
