OVERVIEW

The University of St. Thomas has several openings to join the self-operated Dining Services team as a Line Cook (Cook I).

POSITION DETAILS

  • Full Time, 12 months out of the year
  • Pays $19.00 / hr
  • Work directly for the university, not a food service company
  • Current shifts open : Sunday through Thursday, 6 : 00 AM to 2 : 30 PMMonday through Friday, 12 : 30 PM to 9 : 00 PM

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provide assistance in the food preparation of meals in back-of-house or front-of-house operations
  • Interact with customers and prepare customized, made-to-order menu items in a high-volume environment
  • Prep food throughout shift and assist all culinary staff in completing prep sheet
  • Set up / close down open line workstation for service
  • Follow ServSafe food handling guidelines and maintain a clean work station

This position works a flexible schedule based on business needs and could include nights and weekends.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • At least one to two years of experience in short order food preparation and / or volume cooking
  • Successful completion of a criminal background check is a condition of employment for all Dining Services positions
