Job Details
- The Registered Nurse is a practitioner who is responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating nursing care for an identified group of patients in an inpatient environment.
- Demonstrates competency in delivery of care to a primarily adult population.
- Incorporated essential functions are adapted from the ANA Nursing : Scope and Standards of Practice, 2nd Edition (2010).
Job Requirements
- Assessment : Collects comprehensive data pertinent to the patient's health and / or the situation.
- Diagnosis : Analyzes the assessment data to determine diagnoses or issues.
- Outcomes Identification : Identifies expected outcomes for an individualized plan.
- Planning : Develops a plan with strategies and alternatives to attain expected outcomes.
- Implementation : Implements the identified plan.
- Evaluation : Evaluates progress toward attainment of outcomes.
- Quality of Practice : Contributes to quality nursing practice.
- The RN may function in the scrub role in the operating room after completing training / competency.
- Practices ethically and utilizes appropriate resources.
- Collaborates with patients, families, and others in nursing practice.
