Position : Assistant Project Manager
Company Overview :
I am currently working with a full-service civil construction company specializing in TXDOT, transportation, highway, road, bridges and utility projects.
I am seeking an Assistant Project Manager to support our construction and engineering projects. This role is ideal for a candidate with 3-5 years of experience in Heavy Civil / Heavy Highway projects who is looking to further develop their skills.
Responsibilities :
- Assist the Project Manager in the preparation of bids and proposals.
- Support the preparation and submission of invoices according to contract terms.
- Help track project progress, including monitoring schedules, budgets, and project deliverables.
- Collaborate with the Project Manager to maintain and update project schedules.
- Assist with managing and reviewing contracts to ensure compliance with obligations to owners, subcontractors, and vendors.
- Coordinate material procurement and ensure timely delivery to project sites.
- Assist in identifying and mitigating project risks, including safety and quality control.
- Help monitor work-in-progress and assist with billings and collection of outstanding accounts receivable.
- Maintain effective communication with clients, subcontractors, and team members, ensuring all parties are informed of project status and updates.
Skills and Qualifications :
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field; equivalent management experience (preferred).
- 2-5 years of experience in heavy civil / heavy highway-related construction projects, ranging from $5M - $100M+.
- Strong project management and communication skills.
- Self-reliant and able to operate independently.
- Knowledge of all aspects of construction, including estimating, schedules, budgets, and safety.
