ID : 51240872 Shift : Variable Shifts Description : Additional Information : Position Description : Medical Laboratory Scientist / Medical Laboratory Technician Position SummaryThe Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS / CLS / MT) / Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) is responsible for the performance, evaluation and correlation of test procedures and assists in the selection and evaluation of test methods.

The MLS / MLT participates in the education and professional development of laboratory personnel, new employees and students and may participate in the performance of routine administrative and non-routine technical functions.

Medical Laboratory Scientist / Medical Laboratory Technician Position Requirements2 year Associates degree in Medical Laboratory Technology (MLT)or 4 year Bachelors degree in Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS)or meets one of the eligibility requirements as listed with ASCP for certification as an MLT or MLSEntry LevelMedical Laboratory Scientist / Medical Laboratory Work ScheduleThe Laboratory is staffed seven days a week, twenty-four hours per day.

Personnel may be assigned to work mostly one shift or may have a rotational schedule consisting of duty on day, evening and night shifts.

Both options may include weekends.Rotational coverage of holidays.Expected to work overtime and / or additional weekends in times of staffing shortages, emergencies and unexpected increases in workload.

Expected to respond in the event of a disaster.Medical Laboratory Scientist / Medical Laboratory Technician BenefitsAt TidalHealth, team members working at least 36 hours per pay period based on 12-hour shift schedules or at least 37.

5 hours for non 12-hour shift schedules and part-time team members working at least 30 hours or more on weekends only are eligible for benefits.
