Company Description
Meyers Motor Transportation Co is a freight transportation company based in Aurora, IL. Our company has a rich history, beginning in 1972 with a fleet of 10 trucks in the Stock Yard District of Chicago.
Today, we are proud to operate a fleet of 50 trucks that deliver general commodities throughout the United States. We are the internal carrier for well-known companies such as Leggett and Platt, Inc.
a Fortune 500 Company, and Advanced Urethane Technologies, Inc. located in the Chicagoland area. Our central location in Aurora provides easy access to all major highways.
Role Description
This is a full-time hybrid role for a CDL A Truck Driver at Meyers Motor Transportation Co. The CDL A Truck Driver will be responsible for transporting freight across the United States.
The day-to-day tasks include driving trucks, loading and unloading cargo, conducting pre-trip inspections, following traffic laws and company policies, and maintaining accurate records.
While the role is primarily located in Aurora, IL, there is flexibility for some remote work.
Qualifications
- Valid CDL A license and clean driving record
- Experience in operating commercial vehicles
- Knowledge of traffic laws and regulations
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- Ability to handle physical demands of the job, including lifting and carrying heavy items
- Attention to detail and commitment to safety
- Flexibility for work schedule and willingness to travel
- Experience in the freight transportation industry is a plus
- Experience driving a Flatbed trailer is a must
- Must know how to tarp, strap, chain, etc.
