Veterinary Doctor's Assistant - Internal Medicine
ACCESS Specialty Animal Hospital in San Fernando Valley is looking for an experienced Doctor’s Assistant to join our Internal Medicine team!

Shift hours worked between :
7pm-11pm additional $2 / hour
11pm-7am additional $3 / hour
any shift on Saturdays and Sundays additional $2 / hour
Our ideal candidates :
- Have a desire to help people and their pets
- Minimum two-year veterinary experience in a customer service role
- Must be able to read, write, and speak English fluently in a clear and audible voice
- A friendly and professional demeanor
- Critical thinking and problem-solving skills
- And most importantly embody our core principles : Quality, Integrity, Compassion and Service
- Must be able to work Fridays and Saturdays
- Experience with ezyvet a plus
Our Doctor’s Assistants work closely with our medical teams by guiding clients through their visit with ACCESS (from history taking to discharging) helping to establish the foundation for a trusting and empathetic visit.
Your responsibilities may include :
- Work closely with Board Certified Specialists and Emergency DVMs
- Serve the critical role of being the liaison between doctors, clients, and patients
- Organize / track patient diagnostics
- Coordinate hospitalized patient treatment
- Prepare patient discharge reports / in-hospital updates
- Communicate with clients, referring DVMs; and pharmacies as needed regarding appointments, medical concerns, patient updates, referrals, and prescriptions
