About The Position
Job Title : Registered Nurse - Emergency Room Job Specialty : Emergency Department Job Duration : 26 weeks preferred Shift : 7PM-7AM, 12-hour Night Shifts Guaranteed Hours : 48 hours per week Experience : Minimum of 1 year in Level 2 Trauma Center preferred License : Registered Nurse License Certifications : - Basic Life Support (BLS) - Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) - National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS) - Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) - Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) - Management of Aggressive Behavior (MOAB) or Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI) (strongly preferred) Must-Have : - Trauma experience - Ventilator management - Critical care drips / titration - Cardiac rhythm interpretation - Measuring cardiac strips, drains, chest tubes - Hemodynamic lines : Arterial lines / CVP - Stroke experience - Conscious sedation - Assisting with splinting - Ultrasound-guided IVs (preferred) - Charge experience (if applicable) Job Description : - Work in a fast-paced Level II Trauma Center- Provide care to a wide range of patient types, from neonate to geriatric- Manage a variety of conditions including but not limited to DKA, sepsis, trauma, respiratory / renal failure, COVID, mental health issues- Engage in multidisciplinary teams and collaborate with various healthcare professionals- Ensure patient safety and provide high-quality care- Follow protocols in stroke interventions and cardiac events- Perform patient assessments and administer necessary medications and treatments- Utilize the Cerner charting system for documentation- Float between Triage, Psych, Trauma, and Holding routinely within the Emergency Department- Participate in 3-day orientation including New Employee Orientation and Scheduling- Commitment to potential weekend work based on unit needs and possibly during holidays as required
