Ensure products, materials, and processes meet defined standards and verify with real-time inspections in a manufacturing environment.
- Perform real time verification of processes and machine setups on the manufacturing floor.
- Perform the first article, in process, and final inspection of all products during all steps of the production process.
- Ensure all operators are adhering to the tooling care procedures.
- Inform production staff of non-conforming products and processes in real time to prevent waste.
- Collect machine downtime information and document in Machine Downtime report.
- Assist with other quality related tasks as needed.
- Other duties as required or assigned.
Proficiencies
- Strategic thinker with outstanding written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Exceptional attention to detail.
- Ability to facilitate learning and change.
- Math aptitude and computer literacy; proficient in MS Office products.
- Ability to use measuring tools i.e., calipers, micrometers, microscopes.
- Ability to read and understand technical specification drawings.
Education / Experience
- High school diploma or GED.
- 1 year quality assurance experience in manufacturing preferred.
Work Environment / Physical & Visual Demands
- This position is a hands-on role in a manufacturing environment, not an office-based setting.
- This position requires flexibility as needed.
Physical Demands include : Speaking, Listening, Writing, Sitting, Key-Stroke, Crouching, Kneeling, Reaching, Standing, Walking, Pushing, Pulling, Finger movement, Squatting, Grasping, Repetitive Motion, and Sedentary / Light work, requiring lifting up to 20lbs or up to 50lbs with assistance, extended hours in a non-climate controlled environment.
Visual Demands include : Visual acuity to perform activity such as viewing computer terminal and reading.
Environment Conditions : This position is subject to sufficient noise and an inside environmental condition; protection from weather conditions but not necessarily from temperature changes.
