ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
- Receive and interpret work orders, samples, prints, and instructions.
- Set up grinder, install tubes, blocks and plates, changing or dressing grinding wheels.
- Grind springs to proper length, squareness, and load specification.
- Periodically check spring dimensions with calipers, load testers, and fixtures to ensure parts are to specifications.
- Complete and maintain all quality records.
- Adhere to all safety requirements.
- Maintain clean and orderly work area.
SKILLS and ABILITIES
- Ability to read and interpret part specifications or blueprints.
- Detailed oriented.
- Good verbal and communication skills.
EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE
- High School diploma or equivalent preferred.
- 1 2 years’ experience in grinding and / or equivalent machine operation and setup in manufacturing setting preferred.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Regularly required to use hands, finger; handle or feel, pull and push with hands and arms
- Occasionally lift and / or move objects that weigh up to 50 lbs.
- Occasionally required to walk, bend, stoop, climb or balance.
- Frequently required to sit and stand up to 4 hours at a time.
- Exposed to shop elements such as noise, dust, odors, fumes, etc.
