The janitor cleans and keeps in an orderly condition of duties that involve a combination of the following : Sweeping, mopping or scrubbing, and polishing floors; removing chips, trash, and other refuse; dusting equipment, furniture, or fixtures; polishing metal fixtures or trimmings; providing supplies and minor maintenance services; and cleaning lavatories, showers, and restrooms.

Primary Duties

• Responsible for the overall care of the building and the grounds and following proper cleaning procedures.
• Vacuum, dust, sweep, mop, empty trash) around the different areas of the building on a daily basis.
• Use various equipment utilized in the process of daily housekeeping tasks, such as operate floor buffer machine and scrubber machine to clean rugs around the building.
• Clean glass of all doorways and entrances to offices.
• Monitors building security and safety by performing such tasks as locking doors after cleaning offices.
