- This is a remote position in Portland.
The starting salary for the Account Executive is $50,000 to $87,400. Actual salaries will vary by geographic location and are based on factors such as candidate's qualifications, experience, skills, competencies, and company equity.
In addition to base compensation, this role is eligible for an incentive plan.
Account Executive Overview
This position is responsible for managing accounts and overall service quality and plan administration for assigned partners, agencies and / or brokers.
Responsible for building and maintaining strong customer relationships, ensuring customer satisfaction, achieving retention goals, renewal delivery and cross-sell and upsell efforts.
Contributes to the development and implementation of service strategies to ensure effective plan administration. Actively participates in process improvement efforts, handles customer escalations, and provides critical sales support.
Essential Duties
- Manages accounts for assigned customers with accountability for overall service quality, renewal delivery, retention and identification / pursuit of cross-sell and upsell opportunities.
- Serves as liaison between home office and assigned clients. Works closely with partner service and sales representatives, agencies and / or brokers to provide essential communications, support issue resolution and answer questions.
- Provides prompt, efficient, detailed, customer-oriented service. Provides end-to-end service resolution. Researches and resolves questions and issues surfaced by customers.
Engages internal teams on escalated service issues, including membership eligibility, billing, customer service, plan set-up, and claim payment.
Identifies and pursues potential cross sell and upsell opportunities for existing accounts to achieve retention goals.
Reviews and recommends products for clients. Reviews block of business for profitable growth and develops strategies to executive on increasing overall block health.
- Handles renewals for assigned accounts, including product, pricing and negotiation, and delivering renewals to clients
- Prepares correspondence and presents performance reports to clients to ensure optimal plan administration. Develops, monitors and reviews performance reports and service performance trends for each account against the plan and recommends specific actions or remedies as necessary.
- Contributes to process improvement efforts to better service our distribution channels.

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Basic knowledge of insurance industry and ancillary insurance products
- Basic knowledge of the marketing and sales process and customer purchasing needs
- Strong customer service orientation and skills
- Problem solving and analytical skills
- Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills
- Intermediate level MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint skills
- Project management and organization skills
- Ability to identify customer needs and work with sales staff to help identify opportunities

- Ability to develop and strengthen relationships with multiple business partners
- Travel required to support relationship building with key accounts - 25% of time
Required Education and Experience
- Bachelor's Degree in Business Management, Business Administration, related field, or equivalent related experience
- 2+ years of related experience in insurance sales, service and / or account management
- Or equivalent military experience
- Active Insurance Producer license in Health & Life (must be obtained within 60 days of employment and is a condition of employment) in your state of residence
