We are offering a contract to hire employment opportunity for an International Shipping Coordinator in the retail industry, based in Manhattan Beach, California.
This role involves the management and administration of international shipments, ensuring that all shipping activities are carried out efficiently and accurately.
Responsibilities :
- Handling the control and administration of international shipments, ensuring all procedures are adhered to and deadlines met.
- Reviewing, processing and verifying shipping documents for accuracy and compliance with regulations.
- Engaging in regular communication with international customers, carriers, and other stakeholders to ensure smooth shipment processes.
- Resolving any discrepancies in prices and documents in collaboration with the Finance Team and international colleagues.
- Ensuring accurate invoicing for factory direct shipments and other international orders.
- Monitoring shipment activities for timely arrival at destinations and reporting any discrepancies to the relevant supervisor or manager.
- Creating and maintaining accurate reports to account for all shipment activities.
- Coordinating with Customer Service, Allocations, Customs Team, Finance Team, and other parties to resolve any issues or discrepancies.
- Ensuring all documents and finance presentations are sent to finance institutions and customers to demand and secure payment for all shipments.
- Processing all necessary paperwork including the preparation of instructions for transportation documents, certificates of origin, and other shipping documentation.
This role requires a strong understanding of logistics and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- Must possess a Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience in retail, logistics, or related field.
- Proven experience in international shipping and logistics coordination in a retail setting.
- Strong knowledge of international shipping regulations, customs requirements, and import / export documentation.
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to multitask, prioritize, and manage time efficiently.
- Proficient in using shipping software and other relevant computer applications.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to deal with both internal teams and external partners.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented environment.
- Must have strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make decisions under pressure.
- Detail-oriented with a commitment to accuracy and quality.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
- Flexibility to adapt to changing business needs and deadlines.
- Knowledge of safety regulations and procedures related to international shipping.
- Must be legally eligible to work in the specified location.
