JOB DESCRIPTION

Job Title : Medical Assistant, Certified (or Certified eligible)

Responsible To : Clinic Manager

Responsible For : Assisting Physician Ambulatory Aesthetic Clinic / Patient Care

Overtime Status : Non-Exempt

Job summary : Seeking Full Time Medical Assistant for very busy ambulatory clinic to support 1- Plastics and 3- Oculo-Facial Plastic Surgeons in Tacoma with two satellite locations (one day per week each) in Puyallup and Federal Way.

The position is 32 to 40 hours per week with an option for paid overtime during infrequent busy periods. Our clinic hours are M-F 8-5, we are closed all weekends, evenings and holidays.

Primary Tasks and Responsibilities :

  • Medical History
  • Prepare Patients for exams / procedures
  • Assist physician during exams / procedures
  • Review and document medications and other pertinent information in the medical record
  • Draw medications and in give injections under physician supervision
  • Prepare refills
  • Remove Sutures / Bandages
  • Manage patient phone calls / messages
  • Follow safety and regulatory requirements
  • Maintain required logs
  • Clean and stock rooms
  • Other duties as assigned

Education requirements :

  • High School Diploma required
  • Medical Assistant certification from program accredited by American Association of Medical Assistants or American Medical Technologists (or Certified eligible

Experience Requirements :

Prefer at least 1 year health care experience but not required

Performance Requirements :

Computer proficiency

Knowledge :

  • Familiarity with HIPAA regulations
  • Knowledge of Medical Terminology
