This role offers the opportunity to join a team that is simultaneously solving an industry-wide challenge with produced water and bringing a new water source to an arid region to support local economies.
We are accomplishing this through the development of cutting-edge treatment solutions. In addition, we are developing brine mining techniques to extract valuable metals and minerals to support domestic supply chains.

In this role, the successful candidate will help advance our water treatment solutions and brine mining techniques through detail-oriented testing, analysis, innovative problem-solving, and communication of results.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Innovate on existing processes and methods for produced water treatment to improve effectiveness and cost efficiency
- Perform bench-scale water quality analysis of produced water samples in a field laboratory setting
- Utilize knowledge of inorganic and organic water chemistry to assess performance of pilot plant unit processes
- Log and analyze operational data to identify trends and areas for improvement
- Perform cost analysis of various unit processes to determine economic feasibility
- Prepare detailed technical presentations summarizing findings from pilot operations and water data collected to a technical audience
- Effectively communicate water quality and operational data to enhance understanding and decision-making
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
- Minimum of a B.S. degree in a related field, M.S. or Ph.D. preferred
- 1-5 years of experience in a related field, such as Environmental Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or a similar discipline
- Ability to travel to field sites up to 50% of the time during pilot projects to perform sampling, bench scale testing, and optimization of unit process performance (average travel time when accounting for periods between pilot projects is 25%)
- Strong background in inorganic and organic water chemistry
- Ability to work effectively in a team and independently in both office and field settings
- Proficient in MS Office, including Excel and PowerPoint, for data analysis and presentation preparation
