About The Position
- Job Title : Certified OR Tech / Surgical Tech (CST) Job Specialty : Surgical Services Job Duration : Until March 15, 2025 Shift : Day 3x12-Hour (06 : 30 - 19 : 00) Guaranteed Hours : Not specified Experience : Minimum 2 years required;
- Unit will accept first-time travelers License : NC or Compact license required at the time of start Certifications : BCLS and NBSTSA Must-Have : Experience scrubbing ortho / totals and spine, general, bariatrics, GYN, urology, C-sections, ENT, and plastics- Must have accurate skills matching 3's or above on skills checklist for trauma, ortho, general, and urology cases Job Description : Handle approximately 25 cases per day- Perform scrubbing duties in various specialties including ortho, spine, general surgery, and more- Call duty required : Average of 1 night per week and 1 weekend in a 6-week schedule- Required weekend shifts : 1 per 6-week schedule- Holidays work is mandatory- Serve patients across pediatrics, adolescents, adults, and geriatrics age groups- Participate in unit orientation from 06 : 30-15 : 00 for the first week, then move to the assigned shift- Float within the hospital or to an affiliate hospital based on skill sets and census;
must be comfortable with floating- Complete required modules prior to start (approximately 8-10 hours) Interview Availability : Candidates should provide interview availability for the next 72 hours when applying.
Manager interviews all candidates before offering the position. Additional Notes : RTO (Requested Time Off) after booking is not allowed and any call-offs or additional RTO on the unit may result in cancellation.
- Only 2 consecutive days off can be approved between Thanksgiving and New Year's Day.- Light blue scrubs are provided for the role.
- COVID-19 vaccine is not required, but flu vaccine is mandatory with medical / religious exemptions only.- Employee fatigue policy : Travelers cannot work more than 5 consecutive days or exceed 60 hours in a week.
Modules : Non-billable and must be completed prior to start.
