Job Summary
The tutor student employee is responsible for providing individual and small group tutoring to prepare, advance or remediate students in specific academic areas.

Job Responsibilities
- Identifies students’ academic needs and assists them toward improvement
- Reviews class assignments, content or standards; discusses content with student; and re-teaches when needed

Responds to the needs of students, colleagues and community members in a timely and courteous manner
Communication, Collaboration and Teamwork
Effectively communicates study strategies to ensure academic success
Planning, Organizing and Accountability
- Modifies and develops tutoring methods to meet each student’s different needs and learning styles
- Provides student progress updates and feedback to appropriate parties
Initiative, Problem Solving and Decision Making
- Teaches and models studying, note-taking and test-taking skills and strategies
- Researches and recommends supplemental texts, computer games or apps, equipment or other learning materials to further promote academic success

Required Qualifications An equivalent combination of education, training and experience will be considered. Additional requirements may be designated by position.
- Currently enrolled at Lindenwood University
- Good academic, social and financial standing with the university
- Academic major, minor or other demonstrated expertise related to position’s subject matter focus

- Demonstrated ability to work effectively with individuals from diverse communities and cultures
- Thorough understanding and knowledge of subjects and skills being taught

- Ability to foster students’ self-confidence by offering encouragement, positive reinforcement and constructive feedback
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, Canvas (learning management system) and related software
