We are offering a long-term contract employment opportunity for a Staff Accountant in Houston, Texas. This role is primarily based on-site and is vital to our operations in the industry.
As a Staff Accountant, you will be involved in full-cycle accounting and will have exposure to fixed assets.
Responsibilities :
- Efficiently process Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR)
- Perform bank reconciliations and handle journal entries
- Manage the general ledger and assist in month-end close procedures
- Utilize SAP for various accounting tasks
- Monitor and maintain accurate customer credit records
- Handle customer inquiries and resolve any issues
- Monitor customer accounts and take appropriate actions based on account status
- Assist in maintaining an organized and up-to-date financial system
- Collaborate with department members to achieve overall financial objectives
- Ensure compliance with accounting policies and regulations.
- Possess a Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field.
- Exhibit proficiency in Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) procedures.
- Demonstrate experience with Bank Reconciliations.
- Have a good understanding of General Ledger operations.
- Show proficiency in preparing Journal Entries.
- Exhibit experience with Month End Close procedures.
- Familiarity with SAP software is required.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Strong organizational and analytical abilities.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Proven ability to handle multiple projects concurrently.
- Must adhere to strict confidentiality and data privacy standards.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
- Must be able to meet strict deadlines and operate under pressure.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail are necessary.
- Proven ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- Prior experience in a similar role is preferred.
- Professional certification such as CPA is a plus.
