Midwestern University Graduate Nursing Programs in Glendale, Arizona, invites applications for the Director of Clinical Education, a full-time, 12-month tenure-track faculty appointment for the Graduate Nursing Program Master’s of Science in Nursing program.
The DCE will work closely with the Program Director to advise, evaluate, and develop the clinical education curriculum. Responsibilities may include but are not limited to managing and facilitating new and existing clinical site partnerships, enforcing policy, developing and leading clinical faculty development initiatives, performing site visits, advising students, and evaluating student performance.
The successful candidate will also maintain a reduced teaching workload in one or more didactic content areas besides leading the clinical / practicum courses.
Additional responsibilities include scholarly activities and committee responsibilities within the GNP program, College of Health Sciences, and the university level.
Service to the community, profession, and all university levels is also expected. The DCE may also be assigned to serve as Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) Chair faculty for students completing their DNP projects.
Qualified applicants must possess an unencumbered Arizona registered nursing license or nursing compact / multi-state privileges, a national certification through the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners Certification Board (AANPCB) or the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC), an Arizona advanced practice registered nursing (APRN), and at least two years of APRN experience.
It is preferred that the applicant holds a DNP, Ph.D., or equivalent doctorate degree. Applicants should also possess strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
They must also be able to travel to practicum sites within and outside of Arizona as needed. Salary and benefits are competitive for this tenure-track position.
