Estimator / Project Coordinator for Hotel Renovation Company

Overview : We are seeking an Estimator / Project Coordinator with a solid background in high-end hotel renovation, cost estimation, and remodeling experience.

The Estimator will be responsible and accountable for accurate estimating and budgeting of renovation projects. A strong understanding of hotel construction practices, excellent communication, and organizational skills are essential.

Responsibilities :

  • Analyze requirement documents, blueprints, and project plans to thoroughly understand project scope.
  • Prepare material estimates and cost estimates for renovation projects.
  • Perform accurate and thorough take-offs.
  • Create labor estimates for various projects.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with company vendors and contractors.
  • Manage bids from vendors and contractors.
  • Collaborate closely with architects and other professionals.
  • Use bid data to prepare detailed estimates with current software according to company standards.
  • Present prepared estimates to management and clients.
  • Compile and record actual costs.
  • Follow the project to handle or supervise tasks as needed and provide support on job sites.
  • Manage change orders and communicate with the project team before execution.
  • Understand complex construction issues, including structural framing, MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing), concrete, and grading.
  • Read blueprints and navigate architectural drawings and designer renderings.

Requirements :

  • Minimum of 4 years of hotel remodeling estimating experience or equivalent experience in new construction and insurance claims.
  • Strong math skills, including algebra, geometry, and basic arithmetic.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Ability to work well in a team.
  • Proficient in time, risk, and cost management.
  • Strong communication skills; ability to prioritize, multitask, be proactive, and meet deadlines.
  • Effective interaction with customers, vendors, and employees at all organizational levels.
  • Minimum of 6 years of high-end hotel and remodeling estimating experience.
  • Working knowledge of MS Office applications, maintaining an updated calendar, and proficiency with mobile technology platforms.
  • Flexible and adaptable to a changing environment with various moving parts.
  • Self-driven and motivated with superior organizational skills, exceptional attention to detail, and excellent communication skills.
  • Must pass a background check.
  • Bilingual in English / Spanish is a plus.
