Procurement Specialist
Performs duties related to procurement and receipt of goods and services. Obtains competitive quotations; determines the lowest bidder that meets specifications.
Generates reports; maintains procurement logs and files; performs extensive data entry. Communicates with vendors, preparing and modifying high volume of purchase orders;
reviews and processes quotes and numerous invoices. Researches payment / nonpayment of invoices with vendors and the Clerk and Comptroller's Office Finance Division.
Handles general administrative tasks. Provides assistance, and explains Departmental policies and procedures.
QUALIFICATIONS :
Graduation from high school or an equivalent recognized certification, including / supplemented by coursework in fundamental business practices;
minimum of six (6) months of word processing experience.
PREFERENCE FOR ONE (1) YEAR OF EXPERIENCE WITH : Facilities maintenance and / or construction operations and terminology (must specify on application) ;
government contracts (must specify on application) ; using Advantage Financial System / Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) / equivalent (must specify on application) .
Also desirable : Associate's Degree with emphasis in Finance / Accounting, Management, Business Administration or related field.
