Your Specific Responsibilities :
Provides professional nursing services in the care and treatment of clients within a public health setting. Complies with agency, program policies and
daily nursing duties. Works under the direct supervision of the Community Health Nursing Supervisor.
Applies nursing principles and techniques in the direct care and treatment of clients in the clinical setting of Family Planning / STD, Aspects, Refugee
Health, and Immunizations. Make assessments of and documents client's health status in electronic health record. Assists providers in clinic sessions, maintain medical records, interpret and implement provider's orders / recommendations to client, initiating client care and follow up referrals as appropriate and accurately document.
Performs telephonic and walk-in triage as necessary. Assists with timely return calls to clients, providers, and pharmacies as appropriate.
Helps to ensure appropriate and ongoing clinic flow.
Issues medications / vaccines, take vital signs, obtain medical history, assists with maintaining inventory of medications and vaccines, prepares medication orders, coordinates preparation of examination / treatment rooms and equipment.
Assists with medical history taking, reviews abnormal findings with providers as appropriate and provides diagnosis-related counseling as appropriate.
Monitors efficiency and safety of medical equipment, EKG machine in ASPECTS clinic. Provides immunization administration to clients of all ages based on ACIP guidelines, inputs into FL SHOTS and HMS databases.
Provides nursing services to eligible clients per CHD Nursing Protocols. Assists with administation of birth control as necessary.
Assists with completion of clinical logs, data entry for clinical reporting, referrals, triage, and other measures to ensure ongoing quality of care and compliance with standards and policy.
Participates in outreach events related to specific program requirements.
Attends in-service educational sessions, staff meetings, and necessary classes for professional development. Performs venipuncture for specimen collection, performs simple lab procedures, assists with maintaining inventory of medical supplies.
Performs other clinic related duties as necessary and / or assigned. Ensures timely submission of time sheets and EARS information as appropriate.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities :
Knowledge, skills and abilities, including utilization of equipment, required for the position.Knowledge of nursing principles, practices and techniques.
Knowledge of human anatomy and physiology. Ability to administer prescribed medications. Ability to provide direct patient care and treatment.
Ability to work with patients having a variety of physical problems. Ability to plan, organize and coordinate work assignments.
Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others.
Skills in the use of medical equipment and instruments used in providing nursing care.
Qualifications : Minimum :
Minimum :
- Registered Nurse licensure in the State of Florida or a multistate license
- Valid Florida Driver's License and willing to travel to other sites in Osceola County to perform your duties
- At least one (1) or more years of experience on any of the following : Primary Care, Family Planning, Sexually Transmitted Diseases, HIV health, hospital setting, or outpatient clinical settings
- Willing to work during or beyond your normal work hours in Special Needs Shelter, Red Cross Shelter, Emergency Operation Command Center (EOCC), or to perform other functions in the event of an emergency
Preferred :
- At least one (1) recent year of experience as a Registered Nurse
- Experience in documenting and retrieving clinical information in the computer
- Bilingual in English and Spanish and fluently speak, read, and write both languages
- Experience providing immunizations
