The Biostatistics Division in the Department of Public Health Sciences at the University of Virginia School of Medicine seeks two post-doctoral research associates.
Associate will work with Drs. Sarah Ratcliffe and Pavel Chernyavskiy on projects spanning spatial, signal processing and functional data methods.
Projects include developing novel methods and algorithm tools to characterize allograft quality and predict transplant outcomes, characterize and predict chronic pain episodes in cancer patients, and modelling covid public health initiatives and health disparities.
The selected candidate will be expected to participate in the development of publications for peer-reviewed journals, as well as on grant proposals to funding agencies.
Qualified candidates must have a PhD in biostatistics, statistics or a related quantitative field, by the appointment start date.
Experience in joint modeling and predictive analytics analysis is preferred, including proficiency in R and Stata. Excellent written and verbal communication skills are required, as is the ability to work in a cross-functional team.
This is a 12-month appointment with the possibility of renewal contingent upon satisfactory performance and the availability of funding.
Salary is commensurate with education and experience
