We are hiring a Phlebotomist to float between our Shoreline and Everett locations. As a Phlebotomist, some of your responsibilities will include patient greeting, preparation, and rooming, along with crucial laboratory procedures such as venipuncture and TB testing.
The pay for this position is $24.00 - $26.88 an hour.
Requirements :
- Greets, prepares, and rooms patients for their scheduled appointment.
- Performs primary task of laboratory procedures to all Medication-Assisted Treatment patients : blood collection via venipuncture and occasional urine collection.
- Ensures proper labeling and documentation for all collected specimens
- Prepare all collected specimens and ensure appropriate for lab collection, pick up, and transport
- Collects and stores specimens according to established procedures.
- Process billing information, as required by laboratory procedures.
- Assists medical providers with medical procedures / appointments, as needed.
- Completes all required documentation and data entry in EMR system(s) and maintains accurate records of laboratory procedure completion for all patients.
- Processes all specimen results received from the lab, per policies and procedures. Notifies all appropriate individuals within the team if critical lab results are received.
- Performs inventory of medical supplies, sends supply requests in a timely manner, and regularly stock phlebotomy office with needed supplies.
- Completes routine maintenance and quality monitoring of all medical equipment. This includes appropriate techniques to ensure cleanliness, sterilization, and care for instruments and other equipment.
Keep a clean work environment.
- Coordinates care with other members of patient’s care team.
- Maintains confidentiality of patient records at all times.
- Schedules patient phlebotomy and TB testing appointments.
- Provides medical services at assigned locations.
- Attend and complete all required agency meetings and trainings, as assigned.
- Interacts with patients and staff in a courteous, respectful, and professional manner at all times.
- Perform other duties, as assigned.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS :
- Must have a High School Diploma or Equivalent
- Minimum of one year experience as a phlebotomist
- Must have a valid Washington State Phlebotomy License.
- Able to work independently and in a team environment.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
