Job Description
The Enterprise Data Team is looking for a Manager, Data Products and Analytics Engineering who has experience building a first-party data platform on top of a cloud data warehouse.
You will work closely with our Hearst Technology Services team, which is responsible for architecting and developing the infrastructure.
In this role you will also become the subject matter expert and your coordination will ensure we achieve our desired outcomes to create a modern first-party data stack, ensure the security and privacy of data, build first-party data products, enable data science, ultimately serving our Consumer Media divisions.
You will have the opportunity to work on some of the most challenging technical and business problems in the media industry.

The role is based in New York City.
Key Responsibilities
- Understand and translate the business objectives and analytical requirements of first-party data and identity-based solutions into the full development life cycle of complex data products.
- Contribute to integrations and definition of transformations including analysis, design, development, and support of complex data pipelines in the cloud, working collaboratively with Hearst Technology Services.
- Design and create a set of high-quality composable data products for our Consumer Media divisions, to support mission critical deliverables for advertising, marketing, E-Commerce, and content creation.
- Advocate the best practices for data storage, data management, and analyzing data within the cloud environment.
- Build, execute and maintain automated tests and contribute to the management of data profiling to ensure data products and pipelines meet expectations.
- Contribute to the development of a modern data stack that meets strict security and privacy compliance requirements.
- Participate in the growth of the Data Center of Excellence by sharing knowledge, best practices, and methods.
- Collaborate with the relevant Data Science stakeholders to build data sets used for model training and development.
- Develop and maintain all relevant documentation.
Qualifications
- Strong proficiency with relevant programming languages such as Python and SQL.
- Relevant bachelor's degree in CS or related field. Masters preferred.
- 3-5 years of experience as a data engineer.
- Experience in developing data products adhering to data quality, security, privacy, and governance standards.
- Demonstrated success managing a small team of data engineers and data analysts.
- Experience with Google Cloud Platform Big Query.
- Experience deploying ML models and production workflows.
- Proficiency with a wide spectrum of database, data warehouse, and data lake technologies.
- Experience with consumer 360 digital identity resolution and management, as well as relevant technologies (such as DMP and CDPs).
- Experience building and managing audience profiles and taxonomy development.
- Familiarity with industry identity frameworks (such as Chrome Topics & Protected Audiences, UID2 & Liveramp, ATS & ID5).

The reasonable estimate, if hired in New York City, is $120,000 to $140,000. Please note this information is specific to those hired in New York City.
If this role is open to candidates outside of New York City, the salary range would be aligned to that specific location.
