The Impact

Daily and monthly responsibilities - What your days and weeks will include.

State Taxpliance

  • Responsible for the preparation, review, and processing of the annual state ie tax filings and associatedpliance in coordination with our outsourcing partners
  • Primary role on state and local tax audits and notices from state related to state ie tax
  • Ensure accuracy of andpliance with tax calendar and internal controls
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of state tax developments
  • Provide information and support to business areas
  • Advise on non-routine transactions impacting state filings, including acquisitions and dispositions
  • Prepare, review and approve journal entries
  • Prepare, review and approve General Ledger Reconciliations
  • Assist with state legislative and regulatory initiatives
  • Guaranty Fundpliance
  • Develop a strong working relationship with internal and external clients, including vendor relationships

The Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting / Finance or related field
  • 3+ years of Corporate Ie Tax and / or Accounting experience
  • 3+ years State and Local Ie Tax experience

The Ideal Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting / Finance
  • 5+ years of Corporate Ie Tax and / or Accounting experience
  • 5+ years state and local ie tax experience
  • Working knowledge and experience related to insurance premium tax a plus
  • Working knowledge and experience related to sales and use tax and / or property tax a plus
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Strong time and project management skills
  • Excellent oral and writtenmunication skills
  • Ability to identify issues and rmend effective solutions
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • CPA or MST highly desirable
  • Experience in the insurance industry preferred
  • Strongputer skills, including taxpliance software (Corptax), GL systems (SAP) and research software (CCH)
