Volt is immediately hiring for a 3rd Shift Maintenance Controls Technician in Pomona, California
As a Maintenance Controls Technician you will :
- Assists in troubleshooting electrical, instrumentation and control issues to minimize downtime due to equipment failure.
- Performs preventive maintenance activities for electrical and automation systems within the plant.
- Utilize knowledge to assist in equipment optimization through proper PLC and controls setup.
- Performs PLC and HMI system changes and upgrades as required.
- Maintains safe and healthy work environment by following standards and procedures; complying with legal codes and regulations.
- Assists Maintenance Department in planning and completion of maintenance and UMI based special projects.
- Evaluates functionality and reliability of PLC and controls systems and helps identify problems and requirements.
- Aids in ensuring serviceable function and reliability of facility PLC and controls systems by supporting the preventive maintenance program;
operating and testing systems and equipment; restoring, repairing, rebuilding, or replacing faulty or inoperative components and parts.
Works with the Maintenance team on repair calls from the Production floor, and monitors all current maintenance related issues using the two way radio system.
Aids in troubleshooting of equipment mechanical and electrical systems as required.
- Works with the maintenance planner to continually improve PMs to reduce equipment downtime, and man hours associated with them.
- Advises the Inventory Technician and Maintenance Purchaser of any spare parts shortages that may affect the completion of electrical and controls maintenance work.
- Perform PLC and HMI system upgrades unassisted. Backup and help maintain an archive of the Plants programs. Ensure installation, adjustments, repairs and preventive maintenance of machinery are conducted in a safe and timely manner.
- Adhere to the concept of team, aligning to and supporting the company’s goals and sharing knowledge.
- Compliance to GMP, Food Safety, Food Defense and Food Quality regulations as required by the company, customers and / or government legislations, including timely communication to appropriate facility management of any non-conformity issues or violations found

- Performs other duties as assigned
This is a Full-Time opportunity.
Hours : 9 : 30pm - 5 : 30am
The ideal candidate will have :
- Food Manufacturing background as a Maintenance Controls Technician
- 3+ years of maintenance experience with PLC in Food Manufacturing
- Experience with Allen Bradley machines a plus+
- Bilingual Spanish speaking is a plus +
- High school Diploma and or GED, or 5+ years of related working experience
Pay Rate : $28.00-$35.00 hour
Pay range offered to a successful candidate will be based on several factors, including the candidate's education, work experience, work location, specific job duties, certifications, etc.
