PositionOverview :
SiemensMobility is seeking to fill a Field Service Engineer position in Escondido, CA,to assist in the coordination and implementation of all phases of the serviceand maintenance activities on our SIEMENS DESIRO DMU light rail vehicles.
Youwill also be responsible for assisting in various maintenance activities withour customers, training their maintenance personnel, and advising on the bestmaintenance techniques.
Settinga safe work environment and proactively supporting our customers is crucial tothe function. You will interact with the operational, quality, engineering,financial and mechanical departments for the railroad's safe, cost-effective,and efficient operations.
Weekly shift hours can change based on customerschedule and maintenance needs.
Whatyour day-to-day will look like :
- Provide a positive customer service experience by establishing a rapport with Customer management and maintenance facility personnel.
- Ensure the provision of high-quality technical advice to the customer's maintenance workforce to improve the equipment reliability of the Sprinter fleet.
- Ensure responsiveness and support to finishing the troubleshooting and repairs assigned to service requests.
- Ensure the delivery of ongoing system operation training for the customers.
- Identify non-conformance issues and improvement recommendations.
- Assists the local customer staff in assigned troubleshooting and repair works.
- Ensure accurate communication between the customer, internal support, and the field team when required.
- Give feedback to the team regarding performance, quality, and efficiency issues.
- Work with 3rd party vendors, to ensure proper operation of vendor components installed on the Sprinter DMU.
- Continually progress customers' maintenance practices to support the Sprinter DMU as intended by the manual.
- Regular reporting out on failures, fleet status, and other related topics.
- Performing quality audits in the CMMS system.
Tothrive in this role, you have :
- Associate’s degree in electrical technology or other technical discipline or a minimum of 4+ years of electrical / mechanical experience working in an industrial or manufacturing environment.
- Experience troubleshooting electrical (both AC and DC circuits), Mechanical, and Pneumatic systems.
- Experience interpreting electrical and pneumatic schematicsand drawings.
- Excellently demonstrated English language technicalcommunication skills.
- Proficiency with all Microsoft Office (including Excel / Word / Access / PowerPoint) products.
- Ability to travel 10%
- Setting you apart from others would be experience in rolling stock (railroad) maintenance and commissioning or other rail-related experience as well as knowledge of Railroad Regulatory, FRA / FTA requirements, and guidelines.
