The Salvation Army Mesa Corps is looking to fill a Temporary Heat Relief Worker position. The successful candidate for this position will be able to handle crisis / emergency services for the homeless and to utilize crisis intervention, crowd management and conflict resolution skills.
The Heat Relief Worker will handle check-in of heat relief participants, keeping visual and continuous interaction with clients.
This person will set up / tear down equipment and stock / restock supplies used as well as cleaning area during usage including mopping spills, sanitizing cots, wiping tables and showers.
This position will assist participants within limits in processing issues, problem solving and ensuring compliance with program rules and expectations.
QUALIFICATIONS :
- High School Diploma / GED required
- Demonstrate a positive attitude, with ability to work with people of diverse backgrounds and circumstances
- Able to maintain a non-judgement attitude, professional approach and boundaries with clients
- Able to handle crisis / emergency services for the homeless and to utilize crisis intervention, crowd management and conflict resolution skills
- Ability to assess at risk participants and situations
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Successful background clearance
