The Admissions Services Team is hiring an Interim Director of Intake Services- Behavioral Health to travel and be responsible on an interim basis for the oversight and direction of the assigned hospital’s Intake Department.

Key Responsibilities include :

  • Provides direction to a staff of specialists in the provision of patient access to care and behavioral health assessment services, including call management, clinical evaluations for level of care, crisis intervention, admissions and referrals
  • This position interfaces closely with the hospital’s medical staff, nursing staff, department heads, and administration, as well as external referring agencies and payers.
  • Responsible for the department’s budget, policies and procedures, regulatory compliance, service excellence, and data management / analysis while providing interim director coverage.
  • Participates with the senior leadership team in the development and management of processes related to the hospital’s strategic goals while serving in the interim role.

Qualifications

Must hold a master’s degree in a behavioral field or be a graduate of accredited school of nursing and have a current licensure as a Registered Nurse.

LCSW, , or RN-Licensure-(Bachelors or Master’s) prepared from an accredited college or university.

Previous experience as an Intake Director in a BH setting required.

  • Should have a working knowledge of the behavioral health and SUD fields with experience in clinical interviewing, patient assessment, family motivation, treatment planning, communicating with external review organizations or comparable entities, and working effectively with people of diverse backgrounds.
  • A minimum of five (5) years of managing a professional / clinical team and responsible for staffing, budgeting, and process improvements.
  • Knowledge of crisis intervention techniques.
  • Trained in Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI) or Handle with Care and CPR.
  • Possesses knowledge and ability to effectively utilize computers, analysis programs, and internet for measurement and reporting of key indicators and trends.
  • Significant amount of travel, including possible weekends, is required.
