Position Overview

As an IT Specialist at TDFCU, you will play a crucial role in providing technical assistance and support for internal systems and users.

This position requires a proactive individual with strong problem-solving skills and a passion for leveraging technology to improve operational effectiveness.

Duties and Responsibilities :

  • Troubleshoot common technical issues such as drivers, network connectivity, password lockouts, and knowledge of general desktop applications.
  • Install or modify data communication systems. Provide technical assistance and consultation in the use and operations of complex computer operating systems.
  • Investigate new techniques, equipment, and data processing methods. Evaluate technical requirements for new or upgrades in hardware / software.
  • Provide triage for helpdesk activities. Maintain workflows, diagrams, databases, and libraries including systems security functions.
  • Design and maintain systems documentation according to policies and standards. Ensure that documentation meets all security regulations for the credit union.
  • Coordinate technology resources including main system, telecommunications network, telephone system(s), and personal computer connectivity.
  • Partner with manager to evaluate technology resources including main system, telecommunications network, telephone system(s), and personal computer connectivity.
  • Evaluate and procure new technology and computer supplies.
  • Coordinate the services of vendors and review vendor contracts for compliance. Function as the contracts administrator for all outsourced technology services.
  • Ensure that all software licenses and security certificates are maintained.
  • Maintain administrative access for defined systems.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Education & Experience

Associates degree in a computer-related or information systems field. May consider appropriate certifications within computer, network, or information systems.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 2 years related experience in financial institution / credit union.
  • Extensive knowledge of computer hardware and software, particularly Microsoft suite of products.
  • Ability to execute judgement to apply broader aspects of established practices to situations.
  • General understanding of security and network technologies (firewall, VPN, spam filter, etc.).
