Cath Lab Rad Technologist II - PRN Days Plus Call

PRN Schedule : working up to 19 hours per week plus call (46 permonth)

The Cath Lab RadiologicTechnologist II is an experienced fully competent Technologist withspecialized training and knowledge of cardiovascular proceduresdirectly related to the Cardiac Catherization LaboratoryResponsible for assisting physicians with highly specialized andcomplex interventional and therapeutic radiologic proceduresincluding but not limited to : peripheral and coronary angioplastystents rotablators artherectomy laser and coronary ultrasound;

electrophysiology procedures including ablations and deviceimplantation. A member of the direct patient care team activelyparticipates and scrubs into Cath Lab cases to assist with themovement and alignment of equipment as well as the control ofradiation throughout procedures.

Serves as a mentor to Cath Lab RadTech Is Cath Lab RNs and students by utilizing skills and knowledgeto help train and educate others.

Works independently exercisingsound judgment and executing above average clinical skills onchallenging diagnostic procedures and patient care situations.

Delivers exceptional patient care and adheres to radiationstandards and guidelines established by radiology agencies toensure optimal patient safety and customer service.

This jobrequires availability to be oncall.

PEOPLEESSENTIALFUNCTIONS

Collaborates with all members of the patientcare team by actively communicating and reporting pertinent patientcare information and data in a comprehensivemanner.

SERVICEESSENTIALFUNCTIONS

Performsinterventional and therapeutic radiologic procedures including butnot limited to : peripheral and coronary angioplasty stentsrotablators artherectomy laser and coronary ultrasound;

electrophysiology procedures including ablations and deviceimplantation fluoroscopy and cine modalities as well asrecommending various radiological techniques to maximize bestvisualization of patients cardiacanatomy.

• Activelyparticipates and scrubs into Cath Lab cases to assist with themovement and alignment of equipment as well as the control ofradiation throughoutprocedures.
• Provides carefor the physical needs of patients by executing various Radiologicconcepts to maximize performance. This includes : positioningphysiology procedure preparation and technical factors.

Modifiestechnical factors to achieve desired imaging results and recognizescomplications / limitations associated with certain procedures.

Proactively identifies how to address these for optimumoutcomes.

QUALITY / SAFETYESSENTIALFUNCTIONS

Followsradiation safety standards and conducts all imaging proceduresaccordingly. Properly utilizes patient radiation protection andimmobilization during diagnostic procedures.

Maintains propersterile techniques for procedures regularly practices aseptictechniques and ensures compliance with infection controlprocedures.

Complies with job departmental and hospital safetystandards practices andpolicies.

Ensures allimaging equipment has had QC performed as required and is in safeworking order prior to use. Reports any malfunctions to managementand regularly practices preventive maintenance procedures;

callsfor service ifneeded.

FINANCEESSENTIALFUNCTIONS

Providesaccurate and complete documentation of patient procedures. Enterscharges at the time service isdelivered.

GROWTH / INNOVATIONESSENTIALFUNCTIONS

Participatesin departmental projects and shared governanceactivities.

WORKEXPERIENCE

At least 3years experience as a Cath Lab Radiologic Technologist; mayconsider HM Cath Lab Radiologic Technologist with at least twoyears Cath Lab experience of which at least one has been withHM

LICENSESAND CERTIFICATIONSREQUIRED

• ARRTRRadiologic Technologist Radiographer (ARRT) AND
• CMRT CertifiedMedical Radiologic Technologist State Licensure Registration as aMedical Radiologic Technologist (MRTGC) AND
• BLS Basic LifeSupport (AHA) AND
• ACLS AdvancedCardiac Life Support(AHA)
