Virtual Special Education Teacher

Location : Remote (Arizona-based)

Job Type : Part-time Contract

Pay : $32 / Hour

Key Responsibilities :

Instruction & Curriculum Development :

• Design, plan, and deliver high-quality virtual instruction tailored to students with special needs.
• Develop and adapt instructional materials and strategies to meet the unique needs of each student.
• Utilize various digital tools and resources to create an interactive and inclusive learning environment.

Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) :

• Create, review, and implement IEPs in collaboration with students, parents, and school administrators.
• Monitor and assess student progress towards IEP goals and adjust instruction as needed.
• Document and report on student progress and outcomes regularly.

Student Support & Engagement :

• Provide one-on-one and small group support to students as required.
• Use virtual platforms to facilitate engaging lessons and maintain student motivation.
• Address and manage student behavioral and academic challenges with sensitivity and professionalism.

Collaboration & Communication :

• Work closely with parents, guardians, and caregivers to keep them informed of student progress and provide strategies for support at home.
• Collaborate with general education teachers, specialists, and school administrators to ensure a cohesive approach to student education.
• Participate in virtual meetings, professional development, and team planning sessions as required.

Technology Management :

• Utilize and troubleshoot educational software and virtual classroom platforms.
• Ensure that students and families have access to and are able to use necessary technology for remote learning.

Qualifications :

• Education : Bachelors degree in Special Education or related field; Masters degree preferred.
• Certification : Valid Arizona teaching certification in Special Education; additional endorsements or certifications in related areas are a plus.
• Experience : Minimum of 2 years of experience teaching special education, preferably in a virtual or remote setting.

Skills :

• Proficiency in virtual teaching tools and technologies.
• Strong organizational and communication skills.
• Ability to create and maintain an engaging online classroom environment.
• Sensitivity to diverse cultural and educational backgrounds.
