Independent Identity (II) is a non-profit in Austin, TX. II is a community and center based day program for clients 18+ with autism or intellectual and developmental disabilities who are struggling with challenging behaviors such as aggression, property destruction or self-injury.

Clients receive small group ABA therapy embedded into their day program based upon treatment plan written by a supervising BCBA ® @independent.identity.atx

About the Role :

Our non-profit organization is seeking a Clinical Director to oversee the day to day operations of our program. The Clinical Director will be in charge of developing and implementing systems to facilitate effective clinical programming and operations, and will also be responsible for creating and disseminating new training materials for staff.

The successful candidate will be a dedicated individual who is looking to make a difference in the lives of adults with autism and their families and has clinical director experience.

Responsibilities :

  • Design systems that facilitate effective daily operations and clinical programming, as well as teamwork and collaboration among clinical and operational leaders
  • Re : notes, practice management, supervision, policies and processes, compliance
  • Promote mission-focused work environment across all team members
  • Develop and oversee company culture initiatives
  • Maintain and oversee company staff reinforcement system
  • Develop and provide staff training to effectively grow and develop skills.
  • Conduct monthly staff meetings and weekly BCBA meetings to ensure collaboration and consistency
  • Determine caseload assignments for staff within the company structure
  • Support BCBAs as needed in managing concerns and issues with families
  • Provide clinical oversight, support and mentorship to BCBA team
  • Monthly meeting with BCBAs
  • Quarterly check ins based on RBT feedback from the quarter
  • Annual performance reviews
  • Review monthly surveys; file accordingly
  • Audit notes and programs / goals
  • Review client files and ensure all documents are stored securely and in a timely fashion
  • Support BCBAs in advocating for treatment needs and hours
  • Directly evaluate clinical programming across clinical team by proving impact hours where appropriate (0-10 hours / month)
  • Complete contracts with Texas Medicaid Waiver Providers. Collect and review IPC and initial assessment.
  • Manage waitlist, conduct phone screeners and complete client application and enrollment process when needed, including timely responses to initial family emails, pre-screenings, and intake issues
  • Understand company polices / procedures and be able to relay, enforce, and direct polices to team members and caregivers.
  • Initiate and follow through with correct action plan process when appropriate
  • Monitor RBT development, job satisfaction, and level of support from BCBA team
  • Semi-annual (9-12 month) performance reviews
  • Review monthly surveys and session feedback forms; file accordingly
  • Maintain transitionary caseloads and clinical teams (12-20 hours / month)
  • When available, conduct initial or secondary interviews for job applicants and actively seek candidates
  • Complete initial onboarding of new staff when needed
  • Seek partnerships and collaborations within the community when time permits
  • Assist and oversee creation of outside trainings / consultations and connect with possible recipients
  • Seek resource fair and job fair opportunities to expand client and staff network
  • Periodically visit homes and community locations to monitor and oversee clients' treatment programs.
  • Perform other duties as necessary or requested.
  • Performing all duties in accordance with the agency’s policies and procedures.
  • Follows all Ethics code as outlined by the Behavior Analyst Certification Board. ®

Qualification / Education / Experience :

  • The Clinical Director will hold a minimum of a Master’s degree in a human services field including psychology, education, ABA / autism, special education or related field.
  • A minimum of three years of experience as a clinical director and in supervision.
  • Experience working with individuals with challenging behavior, and adult services.
  • Must hold active BCBA certification and Texas License.
  • Must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
  • Demonstrate strong oral and written skills (English proficiency) with clients, families, funding sources, consultants, the community at large, program and administrative team.
  • Demonstrate an ability to work as a team, maintain positive and fun attitude, and perform job duties with minimal supervisory intervention.
  • Must proactively demonstrate organization, leadership skills, and creativity.
  • Must hold a valid drivers’ license. Must have access to an operational and insured vehicle.
  • Must pass Texas background check.
  • The BCBA will be physically capable of performing all job duties including keeping clients safe in close proximity at all times and particularly during outings, and safely implementing crisis prevention techniques and containing members in excess of 125 pounds when needed.

Pay range and compensation package :

Salary : $80,000-$90,000 / year
