The Direct Tax Projects & Planning Manager will lead all tax-related activities associated with, however not limited to, R&D Tax Credit, R&D Capitalization, Interest Expense Limitation, Depreciation and Mergers & Acquisitions , along with managing federal and state tax audits.
This individual will also be responsible for working with the others to assist with the income tax provision work papers and related disclosures , assist with SoX compliance, and have a focus on implement improvements to the OneSource Income Tax Compliance and Provision software.
Additionally, the Direct Tax Projects & Planning Manager , will be responsible for managing the federal and state income tax compliance process including income tax return filing, remittances, estimated payments, extension, assessments, and disputes.
Essential Functions (not limited to) :
Oversees tax return reparation and filing of federal and state income tax returns
Responsible for financial reporting including ASC 740, FAS 5 and FIN 48 analysis
Identify, claim, and maximize tax benefits, leading tax credit project(s)
Leads R&D credit claim process, from data gathering to documentation and submission to tax authorities
Collaborates with internal teams to gather necessary documentation and data for claims
Assess es current process through information gathering and collaboration with others to better understand the history and system usage for fixed assets, with an end goal to implement a repeatable process
Ensures accurate depreciation calculations for various assets, following IRS guidelines and relevant tax regulations
Analyzes tax implications of different depreciation methods to minimize tax burden
Develops and executes tax strategies to accelerate depreciation deductions and improve cash flow while c ollaborat ing cross-functionally, to ensure depreciation aligns with company’s overall tax plan
Assists with federal and state income tax audits
Develops tax strategies to minimize impact of interest expense limitations
Ensures Company maintains proper documentation to support the characterization and allocation of interest expense
Collaborate s cross-functionally, to ensure accurate data and record-keeping for interest expenses
Leads pre-transaction planning and due diligence of proposed acquisition opportunities
Owns the transaction execution and implementation work associated with acquisitions
Clearly communicates complex tax concepts to core M&A teams, leaders and other internal stakeholders, ensuring informed decision-making
Collaborates with other key internal stakeholders to ensure a coordinated approach that considers all aspects of potential acquisition(s)
Qualifications & Job Requirements :
Bachelor’s Degree in related field, CPA
5 + years of experience with 2 + years leading, influencing, and collaborating cross functionally
Must maintain a strong understanding of latest tax laws and regulations
Experience with OneSource Tax Compliance and OneSource Tax Provision
Ability to articulate clearly, concisely, and error- free
Excellent presentation skills with ability to tailor content to appropriate audience
Strong active listening skills to effectively communicate with colleagues and internal external partner s
Preferred Qualifications :
Master’s Degree in related field

Base Salary Ranges : $110,000 - $140,000
