About the Role

We are looking for a Director of Data Analytics . This leader and their team will be at the center of our efforts to bring our new propositions to Walmart’s customers.

We are looking for a seasoned leader who has experience in early-stage startups (a must). You will be an expert on our data and data platforms, partnering with Product and Business to uncover new opportunities as an authority on measurement, product analytics, and data infrastructure that will help generate key insights to scale our product suite.

As the leader of the team, you will work cross functionally on a day-to-day basis, manage a diverse team, and possess strong problem solving and communication skills.

What You’ll Do

Hire, retain and lead a data team (data analysts and data engineers) focused on empowering analytics and delivering insights acrossthe New Propositions product suite

Define a data vision / strategyand manage the roadmap for how data will be effectively leveraged across our core data platforms, system integrations, and internal tooling that meets the evolving needs of the business.

Responsible for business performance reporting and KPI visualizations as well as home-grown data models (Customer live time value models, incremental lift,customer segmentation, etc.).

Responsible for our data platform, system integrations, and analytics tooling,working cross-functionally with our Global Technology team and platform partners.

Engage with Business and Product team leadership to help define KPIs by having domain expertise in our data and capabilities of our tooling including how data will be captured, shared, and leveraged across our teams.

What You’ll Need

Bachelor’s degree in computer science, mathematics, a similar field, or equivalent practical experience.

10+ years of experience in an analytical insights, data, or consulting role

4+ years of experience leading a team of data analysts or data scientists.

Experience leading a team of data engineers or platform engineers a plus.

Strong communication skills -

Ability to break down complex problems into actionable steps, transform complex data sets into simple visuals and dashboards for analytical and non-analytical teammates, and keep the big picture in view

Superb communication of concepts and ideas to stakeholders at all levels including C-level executives

Excellent storytelling ability leveraging data to drive insights and action

Work experience in ecommerce and / or conversational commerce

Experience leveragingdata visualization tools (Looker), SQL and / or Python or a statistical package, such as R, SPSS or Stata, and can advise on statistical significance

Ability to work in an ambiguous entrepreneurial environment being able to manage and execute across multiple priorities while operating independently with minimal supervision

Know how to inspire, motivate, and support a team to get things done

Willingness to roll up your sleeves and do what’s necessary

This is a full-time role based in Bentonville, Arkansas, in-office 5 days per week.

The annual salary range for this position is $130,000.00-$260,000.00

Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance bonuses.

Minimum Qualifications...

Option 1 : Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science and 6 years' experience in software engineering or related field. Option 2 : 8 years’ experience in software engineering or related field.

Option 3 : Master's degree in Computer Science and 4 years' experience in software engineering or related field.

5 years' experience in data engineering, database engineering, business intelligence, or business analytics.

2 years' supervisory experience.

Preferred Qualifications...

Data engineering, database engineering, business intelligence, or business analytics, ETL tools and working with large data sets in the cloud, Master’s degree in Computer Science or related field and 6 years' experience in software engineering, Supervisory, We value candidates with a background in creating inclusive digital experiences, demonstrating knowledge in implementing Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.
