Purpose of Job

The Senior Financial Analyst, Operations Finance supports the execution of the plan, forecast, and financial reporting across the Interstate Owned Territories. This role specializes in capital management and operating expense reporting and analytics and business initiative evaluation. This role is a member of the Operations Finance team, reporting to the Sr. Manager, Operations Finance.

Job Components

  • Assist with completion of annual enterprise budget for executive management (25%)
  • Assist with maintenance and efficiency of Budget / Forecast (25%)
  • Assist with enterprise capital expenditure and headcount planning, forecast, and maintenance (25%)
  • Additional ad hoc requests and projects (25%)
  • Directly responsible for specific accounts related to Interstate Owned Territories (IOT) and other Key business segment budgets as assigned by the Operations Finance Senior Manager. Tasks include :
  • Provide timely and accurate periodic reporting of actual performance versus planned / forecast expectations and prior year performance for sales.
  • Work with all major business segment financial leads regarding preparation of annual budget including supporting detail and major assumptions.
  • Provide reporting and financial support of operation-level P&L's, including people costs, CAPEX and all discretionary spend
  • Participate in executive leadership budget review meetings
  • Directly partner with Operations team to manage P&L expectations to plan and forecasts
  • Work to identify key risks and opportunities to plan and / or forecasts; Collaborate closely with the Operations teams to close any gaps that may arise throughout the year
  • Directly partner with Fleet team to support execution of Fleet Replacement Strategy, and hold IOT to budgeted CAPEX numbers
  • Provide any ad-hoc analysis required by Finance leadership

Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Finance, Accounting, or Economics required
  • 3+ years of professional finance experience preferred
  • Collaborative approach with internal customers and partners
  • Strong communication skills
  • Developing analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Strong attention to detail and an investigative nature
  • Self-starter with demonstrated ability to work independently but also capable of working in a team environment
  • Strong interpersonal, customer service, telephone, verbal and written communication skills
  • Proficient in the utilization of MS products (Excel, Word, PPT, and Outlook); Experience with SAP is desirable
  • Experience with Tableau and Alteryx and working with large data sets is desirable
  • Work Environment

  • Ability to sustain posture in a seated position for prolonged periods of time.
  • Regularly required to use hands to grasp or handle, talk and hear, stand and walk.
  • Specific vision abilities include close vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
  • Ability to occasionally lift and / or move 10+ lbs.
  • Prolonged use of personal computer & telephone.
