The Engineering Manager is responsible for overseeing the team of Engineers in the completion of engineering projects. The Manager will set project budgets and timelines for completion and assist staff with troubleshooting and management of their areas.
The Engineering Manager must possess industry knowledge to oversee a variety of activities.
Duties and Responsibilities :
- Develop detailed plans for product service launch.
- Make determinations for equipment, team, and training needs.
- Propose engineering budgets.
- Direct projects that produce new processes.
- Lead engineering team’s work for technical accuracy.
- Ensure the validity of methods used by the engineering team.
- Create and document plans utilized by cross-functional engineering teams.
- Coordinate work with other managers and teams.
- Regularly communicate with customers.
- Work with the Asia team to introduce new products ensuring NPI readiness review.
- Participate in cross-group collaboration and corporate initiatives, aiming to improve corporate competitiveness, service quality, and costs.
- Attend conferences and training as required.
Skills / Knowledge Requirements :
- Analytical skills for evaluating information carefully and solving complex problems.
- Proficient knowledge in working and leading failure analysis and repair teams.
- Detail-oriented for understanding complex systems and the ability to pay attention to details.
- Organizational skills for keeping track of various budgets, employees, and schedules simultaneously.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficient computer skills in Microsoft Office.
- Excellent interpersonal skills.
Education and Experience :
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering preferred.
- Five (5) to ten (10) years of people management experience.
