Overview
The Equipment Technician is responsible for the maintenance of equipment including but not limited to assembly, cleaning and inventory.
This position is also responsible for maintaining its availability with specific focus on mechanical ventilators and coordinates the usage and record keeping of patient oxygen.
Responsibilities
- Cleans and assembles mechanical ventilators and prepares them for calibration.
- Cleans, assembles and checks all minor therapeutic and diagnostic equipment and make available for use.
- Performs inventory of disposable supplies, orders necessary supplies from storeroom, and coordinates the stocking of disposable respiratory therapy supplies.
- Refers inventory of non-storeroom supplies to Supervisor.
- Maintains and cleans all equipment used for deliveries and restocks in complying with infection control standards and stores equipment safely.
- Maintains inventory of essential supplies.
- Maintains a clean supply storage area according to New Jersey Department of Health and Senior Services regulations.
- Keeps Manager / Supervisor informed of equipment / supply needs.
- Adheres to the standards identified in the Medical Center's Organizational Competencies.
Qualifications
High School diploma, general equivalency diploma (GED), and / or GED equivalent programs.
