A global leader in the design and manufacturing of severe service valves is seeking a CNC Lathe Machine Operator to set up and operate conventional and CNC machines.
The ideal candidate is experienced in CNC machine operations with strong attention to detail and a commitment to quality.
Working with minimal supervision, the new team member will improve operational efficiency by ensuring precise machining processes while maintaining high safety and quality standards throughout the production process.

Type of Position : Temp-to-Hire
Hours : 2nd Shift (Night) : 6 : 00PM-4 : 30AM Monday-Thursday
Responsibilities :
- Study blueprints, sketches, drawings, manuals, specifications, or sample part to determine dimensions and tolerances of finished workpiece, sequence of operations, and setup requirements.
- Measure, mark, and scribe dimensions and reference points on material or workpiece as guides for subsequent machining.
- Calculate and set controls to regulate machining factors such as speed, feed, coolant flow, and depth and angle of cut, or enters commands to retrieve, input, or edit computerized machine control media.
- Start and observe machine operation to detect malfunctions or out-of-tolerance machining, and adjust machine controls or control media as required.
- Verify conformance of finished workpiece to specifications.
- Set up and operate machine on trial run to verify accuracy of machine settings or programmed control data.
- May perform any other work-related functions as deemed necessary and appropriate by immediate supervisor.
Requirements :
- Graduate of technical school, full apprenticeship program, or completion of in-company, three-year training program
- 2-5 years of CNC Lathe experience
- Operate CNC lathes to perform machining operations, including turning, drilling, and threading.
- 2-year technical school or 2 years completion of in-company training program
- Company training as required
- Must have good knowledge of materials, feeds and speeds
- Should be able to make basic set-ups from scratch. Including installing tools, fixtures, and workpieces.
- Close attention and care is required to prevent damage to complex machine tools or costly metals such as Stainless, Inconel, and Titanium
- Able to perform these jobs duties with or without reasonable accommodations
- Ability to read blueprints and specifications and produce precision work
- Ability to work in a team-oriented environment that is fast paced and demanding
- Must be self-directed, have excellent initiative and organizational skills
- Exhibit a strong ability to handle multiple demands with a sense of urgency, drive and energy
- Work well meeting multiple deadlines with the ability to deliver on time
