Grants Management Financial Specialist
ICF seeks experienced Financial Specialist to provide grants and financial management training and technical assistance (TTA) to grantees and communities within California with ability for occasional travel to grantees and communities within Territories of Guam, North Mariana Islands, and American Samoa territories.
This opportunity will allow the specialist to support the Department of Justice’s, Office for Victims of Crime (OVC) in their continued commitment to provide relevant resource and tools to the communities.
Specifically, financial management specialists will work with OVC to provide grantees and victim-serving organizations with financial management training and increase grants management knowledge and skills to ensure that victim assistance is provided to all survivors of crime.
THIS IS AN ON-CALL, part time hours position based on project needs.
This position is REMOTE but must be located within California with ability for occasional travel to grantees and communities within Territories of Guam, North Mariana Islands, and American Samoa.
What You Will Do
- Assess financial and grant management tools and resources used by Office of Justice Programs grantees.
- Leverage your knowledge of national trends and initiatives; the organizations and individuals actively leading the field;
and effective program and project implementation.
- Deliver customized training and technical assistance to federal grantees as they seek to strengthen their organizational financial management practices.
- Coordinate with project team members and a diverse group of client representatives, external partners, and subject matter experts on developing innovative tools, resources, and services.
- Plan and deliver virtual webinars, regional workshops, office hours and other events that aim to increase grantees’ awareness and knowledge of federal grants financial management requirements.
- This is a remote position; you will work 100% from home and travel 5-10%.
Your minimum qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in any finance and accounting field from an accredited institution.
- 6 + years of experience in financial management, accounting, federal grants management, business administration or organizational development-related discipline.
Additional qualifications we expect you to have
- Demonstrated experience and ability to perform or manage a full range of financial management, accounting, business administration or organizational development-related work.
- Knowledge of federal grants financial management requirements and effective grants administration practices.
- Demonstrate excellent analytic and effective communication skills.
Skills we would like you to have
Ability to plan, organize, and manage the provision of direct technical assistance services to the field; evaluate curriculum or training;
conduct needs assessments; and develop publications.
- Demonstrated success in effectively managing federal client relationships and deliverables.
- Experience working with federal / state grantees and a customer-service orientation.
- Experience planning, promoting, and conducting virtual meetings (i.e., MS Teams, Zoom, Webex) and in-person training events.
- Knowledge of online case management systems and Microsoft office applications.
