IT Systems Engineer, Staff / Active Clearance / Onsite - Ft Worth, TX

Job Description

This role is for a person nearing subject matter expert level professional performance in the area of IT Systems Administration and Engineering of technical projects;

performing in this functional capacity over classified engineering networks and special test equipment in labs. Though you will not be a functional manager you will be expected to lead technical execution efforts and / or teams.

• System administration of heterogeneous networks including Windows 10 / 11, Windows Server based domains, and Linux distributions.
• Manage operating system cyber compliance, upgrades, and patching (Windows / Linux)
• Perform guidance and management for hardware, including diagnostics, troubleshooting, and maintenance on multiple architectures.
• Ensure the integrity and availability of applications as well as coordinate new application installations, upgrades, and customer support in classified areas.
• Responsible for implementing effective backup / recovery, resource accounting, and auditing procedures.
• Perform troubleshooting and maintenance on varied IT hardware (PCs, printers, laptops, etc.).
• Gathers system security design requirements with stakeholders and develops architecture.
• Implements security designs in hardware, software, data, and procedures.
• Full-time onsite role, working the majority of the day in closed areas.

Desired skills

• Expertise with RedHat Enterprise Linux (RHEL)
• Expertise with Windows Server OS
• Expertise administering virtual machines with VMWare ESXi
• Perform successful root cause analysis for problem resolution in Unix and Linux environments
• Performing routine server / workstation patching per guidelines
• Advanced proficiency in scripting (shell / Ansible / Powershell)
• Successfully install server and associated hardware
• Successfully install / configure software applications and programs
• Provide support to operations groups requiring off-shift and possible travel
• Provide IT support in a multi-functional environment that includes software support, network and server administration
• Managing servers in a disconnected environment
• Experience with vulnerability remediation and security management (system hardening, log management, configuration management i.

e., Nessus, Trellix, Splunk, SCAP )

• Possess valid 8140 certifications or be able to obtain certifications within 90 days of hire date.
