Solar Principal Engineer (onsite)
Estimated Duration : 12 months with possible extensions
Work Setting : % of the time at the Client’s site. No telecommuting or remote work. This is a non-negotiable requirement from the Client.
Required :
- Availability to work % of the time at the Client’s site in Juno Beach, FL (required);
- Expertise in two or more of the following areas :
- Solar photovoltaic design;
- Battery storage system design;
- Geospatial data analysis and forecasting;
- AI applications in renewable energy;
- Proven analytical capabilities in two or more of the following areas :
- Creating models, performing statistical analysis, and optimizing system performance;
- Designing and developing machine learning and deep learning systems;
- Solar resource assessment;
- Optimal solar and storage sizing;
- Show maturity of technical expertise and assume responsibility for highly specialized technical objectives;
- One of the following education and experience combinations :
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Statistics, or a related field from an ABET-accredited program;
- 5+ years of proven experience;
- Master’s in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Statistics, or a related field (3+ years of proven experience).
Preferred :
PhD in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Statistics, or a related field (0-2 years of proven experience).
Responsibilities :
- Subject matter expert (SME) of innovation in assigned subject areas;
- Manage small to medium-level projects without direct reports;
- Communicate technical concepts to stakeholders and provide data-driven recommendations;
- Maintain familiarity with industry and company progress and problems in assigned technical areas;
- Research, develop, and implement appropriate ML algorithms and tools to optimize the performance and design of renewable energy systems;
- Collaborate and lead with national and international industry subject matter experts;
- Engage with the research community and technology developers to guide and inform technology development targets.
