About The Position
Job Title : Surgical Services Technician Job Specialty : Sterile Processing Tech (SPT) Job Duration : 13 weeks Shift : Mid 5x8-Hour (15 : 00 - 23 : 30) Guaranteed Hours : 40 hours weekly Experience : 2 years of experience in an acute hospital operating room License : Must have applicable state license, compact license, or have applied for licensure Certifications : - CBSPD Certification- IAHCSMM / HSPA Certification Must-Have : Flu vaccine Job Description : Perform decontamination and disinfection with a variety of chemical agents and disinfectants.
- Utilize high-level sterilization methods, manual cleaning procedures, ultrasonic cleaners, and sterilizers / washers.- Process specialty equipment in areas such as bariatric, cardiac, dental, ENT, endoscopy, general procedures, laparoscopic, neuro, OBGYN, ophthalmology, orthopedic, and plastics.
- No weekend or on-call requirements.- Complete all necessary modules, which may vary by specialty, before start and potentially during orientation.
- Ensure labeling and safe handling of instruments and equipment.- Maintain compliance with professional reference requirements, including two supervisory references.
- Adhere to the local work radius policy for staff in a non-travel status. Note : Orientation consists of 28 hours.
